Biologics

Biologics are a broad class of drugs that differ from some classic medications that we are more familiar with, such as Aspirin.  For an in depth explanation, see the following FDA website.

In the context of an Allergy clinic, common biologics include Xolair, Dupixent, Fasenra, Nucala, and Tezpspire.  These drugs tend to be expensive and are generally not first line therapies, but will often be used in refractory cases of some allergic medical conditions, such as Asthma, Eczema, Urticaria (hives) and Nasal polyps.
